Dreamy Senior Photos: Recap

Senior sessions are some of my favorite shoots to do—especially when a client comes in with a creative vision like Miriam’s. A recent graduate from Belmont University, Miriam wanted her senior portraits to feel dreamy, vintage, and full of movement. From the moment we met, I knew this shoot was going to be special.

Miriam arrived in a gorgeous thrifted blue dress that floated with every step she took, setting the tone for a session that felt both romantic and cinematic. She brought a beautiful bouquet of flowers—soft-toned, delicate, and perfectly chosen—which became the perfect prop to tie the whole vision together.

I feel fortunate to have had the chance to shoot with Miriam. She trusted me fully—not just during the shoot, but also with my editing style and creative choices—and that trust made all the difference. Because she allowed me to lean into my vision, we were able to create a set of photos that truly reflected the dreamy, vintage aesthetic she was looking for. That kind of collaboration is something I’ll always be grateful for.

We shot around golden hour near the Belmont campus, chasing the soft evening light and experimenting with motion blur to capture that vintage, almost film-like essence Miriam was drawn to. The motion gave her portraits a sense of freedom and emotion that still feels fresh every time I scroll through the gallery.

What I loved most was Miriam’s spirit—kind, graceful, and open to trying anything. Her joy radiated in every photo. She wasn’t afraid to run barefoot, spin around, or let the wind catch her dress, which gave the images a real, effortless beauty.

Miriam is heading abroad soon for work, and I wish her all the love and light as she begins this next chapter. I feel so lucky to have met her and captured this moment in her journey.

If you’re a senior (or soon-to-be grad!) who wants more than the typical cap-and-gown portraits, let’s create something that truly reflects you. Whether your vibe is editorial, vintage, cozy, bold, or dreamy—I’d love to bring it to life.

Love,
